After spending the morning downloading pictures for all to see, I took a nap and waited for the afternoon or after 5 pm to go back out to Sorrento.
Today's lessons include: dogs and cats are allowed to roam around the streets including the shops and the restaurants. which means while you're eating dogs and cats are coming around trying to get you to pet them and the streets have piles of animal poop in them so watch your step. and two the school buses are air conditioned luxury vehicles and the buses for the public only have 15 seats and no air. it rains almost every night but in the morning the sun is high and shining and as for shopping there are cheaper shops on the side streets that if you have cash you can negotiate.
As for shopping I was able to get a leather belt made for me while I waited for 10£ or around $15 and Rob found Italian leather shoes for 35£ or $50!
Tomorrow back to Sorrento to shop for you guys and to get Landry this fashion design game she cried for. Our plans for the week include Sorrento tomorrow,Pompeii on Wednesday, Almafi on Thursday and we will try again this weekend to have dinner at the farm if it doesn't rain.
Quick question: Does anyone know how to get red wine out of tan pants?
Sorry lady, those pants are done...try dawn dish liquid
ReplyDeleteHi Dashields Family!! I'm finally able to post a comment. I am loving your daily adventures. A bit much on the food, but that's okay. I told you that Italy has the best food. Anyway, I love the photo of Rob at the airport. TOO FUNNY!! Post more photos and keep us informed!
ReplyDeleteomgoodness....poop....watch your step....This is to much for me. How did Laudry like the animals coming up to her while she is eating? Of course Ms.Landry wants the fashion design game.:)
ReplyDeleteFor the pants, I got this info from the ehow website:
ReplyDeleteBlot the stain immediately with paper towels. If it is a dry clean only garment do not pretreat the stain and get it as fast as you can to the cleaners. Pretreatment of the stain can cause irreversible damage and the dry cleaner may not be able to remove the stain.
2.Combine 1 teaspoon laundry soap or pretreatment (or dish soap, like Dawn) and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl. Soak a clean sponge in the mixture, squeeze it halfway dry, then gently blot the stain.
3.Place a dry towel or washcloth between the front and back of the garment if the stain has not penetrated through to the back of the fabric. This will prevent staining on the back of the material.
4.Review the washing instructions on the label of the fabric. Heed any special care instructions.
5.Wash in cool water and air dry if the fabric is machine-washable.
6.Wash gently in the sink with a mild detergent if the fabric is hand-wash only.
Hope that helps. Now the poop thing is too much for me; and the fact that the kids get AC but the public buses don't - CRAZY!!!
Pompeii!!!! You have to write about that!! How exciting!!!!
